Phase 1
Land Based Treatment
3 months

Goal: Stabilization, emotional growth, self- management skills, and social skills.

A treatment program that incorporates outdoor experiential learning and is conducted completely in the wilderness. This program will focus on weaving therapeutic techniques with Anishinabek Culture.

Criteria for Admission
• Age 19+
• Open to Anishinabek values and traditions.

 
Phase 2
Live In Aftercare
6 months to 1 year

Goal: Provide a stable environment for participants to continue developing and practicing therapeutic skills.

Participants will live in a supervised 11 bed transition house located in A.O.K. First Nation. Participants will be encouraged to attend regular groups and one-on-one counselling. Participants are encouraged to attend work, school, or volunteer opportunities. Accommodations include a geared to income fee to assist in life skill development; however, food, toileteries and other personal costs will be at participants own expense.

Criteria for Admission
• Age 19+
• Open to Anishinabek values and traditions
• Completed treatment through Gwekwaadziwin Land Based program OR in other program within 6 months
• Committed to recovery.

 
Phase 3
Community Aftercare
6 months

Goal: Reintegration into their community.

A gradual transition to either independent living, or living with their family, and full reintegration into their community. Participants will be offered appropriate referrals to community services and peer support groups. At the same time, staff will maintain contact and offer support via meetings, phone, text messages and social media.

Criteria for Admission
• Age 19+
• Completed treatment through Gwekwaadziwin Land Based program OR Gwekwaadziwin Live In Aftercare OR in another program within 6 months.
• Committed to recovery.
