Indigenous Healing & Wellness Strategy Forum & Training Event 2025

Gwekwaadziwin Miikan will be hosting the Indigenous Healing & Wellness Strategy (IHWS) Forum while simultaneously launching a few of the Land Based Elective Courses from Gwekwaadziwin’s Indigenous Land Based Counsellor Certificate (ILBC) Program, on March 24-27, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Sudbury, ON. The IHWS Forum provides an opportunity for partner organizations to come together to discuss and focus on current and arising challenges within the mental health and substance use sector, while the ILBC Elective courses provides hands on learning and skill building opportunities, with courses such as Fur Harvest, Fur Management & Conservation Course, Mitt Making Workshop and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

 

Please note: Partner Organizations will be able to submit a Travel & Expense claim for their participation in the IHWS Forum, Accommodations, Food and travel, however the cost of the ILBC Elective courses are excluded from this claim.

Gwekwaadziwin Miikan will have a block of rooms available for booking up until February 25th 2025. After this date, the block of rooms will be released and the delegates or their organizations, if applicable, will be required to book their own accommodation to attend the event.
